ABOUT THE AUTHOR

William Colstad is a dark fantasy author with a particular fondness for found families, dangerous adventures, strange worlds, and characters who rarely behave according to plan.

His fascination with storytelling began at a weekly Dungeons & Dragons table with his sons and brothers, where years of campaigns led to an ever-growing collection of characters, conflicts, and worlds. He became especially interested in what happens when people from very different backgrounds are forced to rely on one another: heroes, rogues, idealists, and people who would object to all three labels.

Eventually, he began wondering what might happen if some of his favorite creations were thrown into the same adventure.

​

That question became Six Against.

​

He writes fantasy shaped by his love of the genre, horror movies, and comedy, blending action, mystery, dark humor, and character-driven storytelling. At the heart of it all is a fascination with the relationships people build when circumstances strip away the labels that once separated them.

William continues to write the stories those characters insist on having.
